Powerful Pride Month Makeup

Powerful Pride Month Makeup

28th Jun 2017

Incredible makeup looks created in celebration of Pride Month have been flooding our feeds. Artists have incorporated the hues that symbolize the LGBTQ community in bold, vibrant art. San Francisco artist Gilbert Baker created the iconic rainbow flag back in 1978. The original, which was hand dyed and stitched, is now displayed at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Gilbert believed the LGBTQ community needed a symbol that everyone instantly understood. In an interview with the MoMA, he said, "We needed something beautiful, something from us. The rainbow is so perfect because it really fits our diversity in terms of race, gender, ages, all of these things."

Now, four decades later, artists are expressing their pride and support with rainbow eyes, lips, faces, bodies - even beards. Here are some of our favorite looks. With a few days left to celebrate, we hope they inspire you to make a statement. You can find all the colors you need at www.mehron.com.
