Half Skull Half Face Makeup Tutorial

Half Skull Half Face Makeup Tutorial

16th Oct 2018

Skulls are pretty much synonymous with Halloween, with traditional black and white skeletons as decor and costume staples. This year, break from traditional colors and embrace this gorgeous, glittery, glam half skull makeup by @real.alterface. Watch the video below to see how to create the look. We have included the step-by-step directions beneath the video.

1. Create a fresh canvas with Celebré Pro HD Cream Foundation

2. On the glam half of the face, create a dramatic eye of red and black with a bit of glitter. We recommend using iNtense Pro Pressed Pigment in Red Earth and Carbon with Paradise Glitter in White dabbed on the inner corner and outer lower lash line.

3. Using Paradise Makeup AQ in Light Blue, outline the eye socket on the skull side of the face. Then line from top of the socket to the forehead, along the hairline, across the cheekbone to the edge of the nose, and under the nose. Fill in the outlines with the Light Blue. Then paint from the jawline to the chin, under the mouth. Note the uncolored portion underneath the cheekbone.

4. With Paradise Makeup AQ in White, highlight around the eye socket, along the jawline.

5. Draw an outline of the teeth with a small detail brush and Paradise Makeup AQ Dark Blue.

6. Next, outline the uncolored portion underneath the cheekbone with the Dark Blue, extending the line out to the edge of the face. Draw a line toward the temple, around the eye socket, along the brow, above the brow to the hairline, along the paint edge separating the two sides of the face, and along the jawline. Blend and shade. Continue to add more Dark Blue, shading and blending.

7. Using the small detail brush, outline the dark areas, including the teeth, with the Dark Blue. With the small detail brush, use the White to highlight the teeth and the lighter areas on the face.

9. Color in the "uncolored" portion of the face underneath the cheekbone, eye socket, nose, along and under the jaw line, and lips with Paradise Makeup AQ in Black.

10. Dot along the edge of the line separating the sides of the face with Paradise Makeup AQ in White and softly blend.

11. Highlight the Dark Blue areas with Precious Gem Powder in Turquoise.

12. Follow by highlighting the line separating the sides of the face with Paradise Glitter in Blue and Pastel Pink.

13. Paint the skull half of the neck, shoulders and chest with Paradise Makeup AQ Light Blue Brilliant. Drip the Light Blue from the neck down to the chest.

14. Complete the look by applying the Blue and Pastel Pink Paradise Glitter along the painted edge of the neck and chest, collarbone, and shoulder, and painting the hair with Paradise.
