Four Contouring Tips From IMATS Sydney

4th Aug 2017

Last weekend Mehron had some fun Down Under. We were in Sydney for IMATS. The crowds poured in to discover the latest trends and products. And we had a new Mehron Australia website to share with them, along with the newest members of our popular Celebré Pro HD line. When visitors approached the Mehron booth, they were introduced to our Correct-It and Conceal-It palettes. They got to see in person just how powerful these neutralizing and concealing formulas are at camouflaging skin blemishes and discoloration - by both testing on themselves and watching as MUA Megan Hill Luman used them in our seminar Correct-It and Conceal-It: The Ultimate Guide To The Flawless Face.

In this step-by-step seminar, Megan not only demonstrated how to hide skin imperfections, which we have covered in previous color correcting posts, she also shared some contouring tips:

  1. With contouring and highlighting, it is typically two to three shades darker, and two to three shades lighter. Choose the intensity based on the reason for the makeup, i.e., everyday vs. photo or video.
  2. For a more natural, non-chiseled look, use a fluffier brush for application.
  3. If you can’t naturally find your cheekbones, smile to reveal them and/or lightly touch them.
  4. Start by applying product towards the hairline and diffuse out as you move toward the center of the face. This prevents a build up of product in the center of the face. Then follow the natural jawline.

Here's a highlight video from the show.
