Spotlight on Spring 2018 Launches

17th May 2018

Launching seven beauty products in one season is big. So, we went big to spread the news and introduce everyone from editors and MUAs to everyday makeup lovers to the newest members of the Mehron family: Highlight Pro Warm, Highlight Pro Cool, ECHO Pressed Glitter, Shimmer E.Y.E Powder, reformulated Matte E.Y.E Powder, Spicy L.I.P Cream Palette and Sweet L.I.P Cream Palette.

We kicked off the season's launches with a conference room takeover at Hearst headquarters. By transforming the space into a pop-up Mehron mini-makeover station, the company's beauty editors truly experienced the products. They didn't just get to see and feel how silky-smooth and blendable this makeup is; they were also treated to makeup applications by the incredibly talented James Vincent and Bethany Townes. The excitement generated by the products and artists was contagious, with editors telling colleagues they "had" to stop in for a treat.

The launches coincided with The Makeup Show NYC, so we debuted the new products for bloggers and editors at the show's Beauty Brunch. For a little entertainment, we brought along Rachel Estabrook and Kyle Harder to create some fun Sweet and Spicy body art.

The Sweet and Spicy theme continued throughout the show. Lijha Stewart and Yvonne MacInnis, who make up the woman empowerment duo Lipstick Queers, taught our seminar "What Girls Are Made of: Sweet & Spicy. They emphasized how we can allow our makeup for speak for us. Are you feeling sweet? Spicy? Create a look that plays up your mood. Lijha and Yvonne demonstrated just how versatile Mehron makeup is by creating stunning looks using only the shades from the L.I.P Cream Sweet and Spicy palettes for lips, eyes, and cheeks.

The show also saw the launch of a new Mehron booth, which exuded a more boutique feel. It included a fun Lip Bar where everyone could try out the new L.I.P Cream palettes and Photo Booth where they could share their lip looks on social media. The pretty new Sweet and Spicy shades were also featured in more body art by Rachel Estabrook.
